Support this projectHelp Us Bring Justice, Healing, and Hope to Forgotten Inmates
Imagine the crushing weight of waking up every day in a crowded, dimly lit cell, not knowing if anyone remembers you exist. For many inmates across Nigeria, some awaiting trial for years, others trapped by minor disputes that never needed a courtroom, and many battling sickness without medicine, hope is a distant memory.
Behind prison walls, thousands of vulnerable human beings are quietly enduring silent hardships. Among them are individuals who do not belong there: petty offenders caught in legal backlogs, poor citizens who cannot afford basic legal representation, and the sick and elderly lacking the bare minimum of human care.
Justice should never be a luxury reserved only for those who can afford it. No one should be forgotten just because they are out of sight.
To bridge this painful gap, the Social Justice and Vulnerable Care Foundation (SJcare Foundation) is launching a comprehensive, year-long nationwide mission: The Inmate Justice, Welfare, and Reform Project, running from December 2026 to December 2027.
Our Mission on the Ground
Over the next twelve months, our team of legal minds, human rights advocates, and medical volunteers will tour correctional centers across Nigeria to bring tangible relief and structural change.
We are stepping into the facilities to:
- Provide Legal Aid & Freedom: Retain dedicated lawyers to review cases, secure the release of inmates who do not deserve to be incarcerated, and fight wrongful detentions.
- Unlock Cases Through ADR: Utilize Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to resolve appropriate cases outside the slow and overburdened court system, securing swift freedom for stranded inmates.
- Deliver Medical & Welfare Assistance: Provide essential care packages, medical supplies, and critical welfare support to the most vulnerable inmates.
- Advise Government & Drive Reform: Document prison conditions and present actionable insights to government agencies to improve correctional standards.
Why We Need Your Help
To execute this monumental, life-saving project across the country, the SJcare Foundation needs to raise ₦105,000,000.
This funding will directly support the operational backbone of the mission, including:
- Retaining legal teams and human rights advocates to provide active representation and legal defense inside and outside the courtroom.
- Logistics and field operations to safely tour correctional facilities across various states.
- Welfare materials, food supplies, and medical essentials to directly relieve the daily suffering of vulnerable inmates.
- Administrative and staff support to ensure rigorous case tracking, documentation, and follow-through.
Be the Voice for the Voiceless
True justice is measured by how we treat the most vulnerable among us. When you support this project, you are not just funding an initiative—you are breaking open locked doors, giving innocent people a second chance at life, and restoring human dignity where it has been lost.
We cannot do this alone. We urgently call on public-spirited individuals, philanthropists, corporate donors, and government agencies to stand with us.
- Donate: No contribution is too small to change a life or fund a legal defense.
- Partner & Share: Spread the word to fellow human rights champions, donors, and networks who believe in equity and compassion.
