In thousands of remote villages across Nigeria, an invisible tragedy unfolds every morning.

Young children, bright, eager, and full of big dreams, walk miles to get to school, holding tightly to broken slates or worn-out exercise books. But when they arrive, they do not find inspiring classrooms. Instead, they sit on bare dirt floors inside roofless, crumbling structures. They attempt to learn under leaking roofs when it rains, staring at cracked chalkboards with no desks, no textbooks, no basic learning tools, and no modern facilities.

These children are the future leaders, doctors, engineers, and innovators of our nation. Yet, right now, their educational dreams are slowly dying in silence.

Education is the single most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty, build a prosperous society, and stamp out insecurity across Nigeria. When we abandon a child’s education, we compromise the safety and progress of our entire nation. No child's right to learn should depend on their geographical location.

To confront this crisis directly, the Social Justice and Vulnerable Care Foundation (SjCare Foundation) is launching a nationwide campaign: The Rural Education Sightseeing, Research, and Intervention Project, running from January 2027 to December 2027.

Our Mission on the Ground

Over the next twelve months, our dedicated field teams will travel to forgotten rural communities across all geopolitical zones of Nigeria to shine a spotlight on the true state of primary and secondary education.

Through this project, we will:

• Expose the Reality: Conduct ground-level investigations to document dilapidated, abandoned, and under-resourced rural schools using high-impact media coverage.
• Advocate for Intervention: Bring raw evidence, detailed analytical reports, and media documentaries directly to government agencies, international NGOs, policy makers, and the public to demand swift, target-driven action.
• Provide Immediate Relief: Provide direct, emergency support, including essential learning materials, stationery, desks, and scholarships—to the most critically neglected students and schools we encounter during our tour.

To carry out this nationwide investigation, document conditions effectively, and provide direct relief to vulnerable students, the SjCare Foundation needs to raise ₦158,000,000.

• Field operations and essential administrative costs to execute a seamless 12-month mission.
